Thor

Phase 1, Episode 4. Kenneth Branagh directs the Norse God of Thunder, Thor, starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Stellan Skarsgård, Kat Dennings, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Rene Russo, Clark Gregg and Jeremy Renner.

Listen to Michael Field and Pat Whalen navigate their way through the slog that is this movie. (We're only slightly kidding) We get introduced to the brotherly relationship of Loki and Thor that will extend throughout the MCU. We learn that all it takes for Thor to learn his arrogant ways were wrong is when he makes scrambled eggs. And we meet Hawkeye, the landlord! (in the comics)

About the Podcast

Yet Another MCU Podcast
A deep dive into the influences and connections of the Marvel Cinematic Universe
Pat Whalen is a lifelong comic book geek.
Mike Field is a filmmaker and storyteller.

So naturally, a bulk of their conversations surround the world of the Marvel movies. Some consider the MCU one of the greatest achievements in modern-day filmmaking and others just think they’re comic book movies.

Each episode they'’ll tackle one film and discuss the differences between the comic book and what’s on-screen. They’ll explore the growth of the Marvel Cinematic Universe from its inception to present day and beyond. And have a little fun along the way. You may not have asked for it, you certainly don’t need it, but you’ll be happy they’re here…we think. This is Yet Another MCU Podcast.

I’m a storyteller.

My very first story was about a detective trying to solve the murder of his best friend. It was also my high school girlfriend’s homework assignment. She got an “A” and then dumped me. I knew even then writers get no respect, but I didn’t care. I fell in love with writing.

In the beginning of every story, there’s nothing. It’s scary. It’s intimidating. It causes the best of us to turn tail and run. Over the years, I’ve learned there’s no greater professional satisfaction than starting that story and seeing it to completion.

I've been creating content for over twenty years, handling all phases of production and including promotion and marketing. I've made web series, short films, feature films, commercials and industrials. I’m a fan of organization, collaboration and other people’s creativity. No one person has all the answers.

And now, I'm a podcast producer and host for Forgotten Cinema, Yet Another MCU Podcast and much more coming from Forgotten Entertainment.
